We will create an images based poster using Photoshop. Sizing images, resizing images, layering in words while giving them dimension and character to fit different themes are some of the elements we will cover in this two hour lecture/demonstration based class. This class will demonstrate many of the basic skills needed to create simple art documents including posters, flyers and image based promotional materials. A great refresher for those making imaged based documents and those who need a brush up on their basic skills, or those learning these skills for the first time.

Be prepared to take notes as we go step by step through the process of creating digital artwork that stems from regular photographs. You will learn the basics of the “Transformational Energy Artworks” that are used as a foundation for the mixed media encaustic works I create.
You will be shown layering and manipulation through Photoshop used to achieve certain looks and feels, possible through the digital medium. We will go through the thought process for the creations, including the whys and how’s of specific choice. A demonstration of how to choose and use images, color adjustments, layering, adding text, words, prayers and an assortment of techniques as well as filters and liquefaction of pixels for hand painting will be included. This class is more than button pushing; it is an art form just as painting with acrylics and oils are.
Using Photoshop I’ll demonstrate the process. We will go through several styles with different results. Specifically you will learn about the DIGITAL ” Transformational Energy Art”. We will cover a large amount of information. Please take notes; we’ll move quickly answering questions as we go.
